GEOPOGO
Worked on Geopogo’s Magic Leap 2 app (Creator Pro) as User Experience Designer & Prototyper and on Geopogo’s Cities app—a desktop & laptop city scale visualization tool—as lead developer & user experience designer.
Geopogo’s Magic Leap 2 app (Creator Pro) is a Building Information Modeling (BIM) to Augmented Reality tool to help visualize and collaborate at varying scale on projects. Intended for Architects, Builders, property owners or occupiers and their stakeholders.
Geopogo Cities is a city scale visualization tool with a similar aim though offers different perspectives. Dynamic sun manipulation for visualizing a project in real-time at geolocated accurate city. Intended for presentation purposes to get alignment on a project and to refine design.
CREATOR PRO
My role for Creator Pro was to design and prototype the user experience and define the interaction and visual language for the app. Usability was top priority as many users were new to AR and didn’t have time to learn an unfamiliar system. Learnability, perceivability and predictability were the main focus for manipulating and placing models in a variable environment. Also designed a collaboration system for different stakeholders so that they may provide feedback on a project.
CITIES
My role for Geopogo Cities was as lead developer and user experience designer. Designed and implemented various features such as an importing and manipulation system for models, user interface building off the design language defined in Creator Pro, City Editing for masking out buildings in a city, Save & Load system and restructuring the menu system and user flow for the app.
In collaboration between the city of Casa Grande, Arizona and Lucid Motors; Geopogo Cities played a pivotal role in shaping urban planning, project comprehension, and civic engagement. Lucid’s Arizona-based factory AMP-1 situated in Casa Grande, actively participated in and contributed to the enhancement of Geopogo Cities.
My role as a user interface designer and developer involved integration of diverse city Geographic Information System (GIS) data into the application. This encompassed the incorporation of various zoning data, addresses and upcoming projects, ensuring a comprehensive and informative user experience.
Also needed was an enhancement of the application's camera and navigation system. Recognizing limitations in the existing system's usability and options; improvements included the introduction of a grounded first-person camera, a third-person mode, vehicle mode, strategic viewing camera, orbital camera options and additional customizable camera settings. These enhancements aimed to provide users with a more versatile and immersive exploration of the cityscape and imported projects within Geopogo Cities at varying scales and perspectives.
